Next to Talk to your agent at the top of the agent page is a menu. It is small and easy to miss, and it holds the actions people most often go looking for elsewhere.

ActionWhat it does
Edit AgentOpens the agent for editing
DuplicateMakes a copy you can change freely
Save as TemplateTurns this agent into a starting point for new ones
View LogsOpens the logs for this agent
Copy linkCopies a direct link to the agent
DeleteRemoves it

Duplicate is the one to reach for

Once you have one agent that works, the fastest way to a second is to copy it. The instructions you tuned, the models you settled on and the tools you attached all come with it, and you change only the parts that differ.

That is almost always better than starting from a template again, because the template does not know anything you have learned since.

Save as Template is for teams

Duplicating gives you one more agent. Saving as a template gives everyone a starting point, which is what you want once several people are building agents and you would rather they all began from the same place.

View Logs

For when a call went wrong in a way the transcript does not explain. The transcript tells you what was said; logs are where you look when the question is why the agent did something.

Delete

It removes the agent. Before you use it, check whether a phone number points at it. A trunk whose agent has gone is a number that rings into nothing, and the symptom shows up on the phone rather than on this page.

Careful

Check Phone Numbers for any trunk selecting this agent before deleting it. That connection is not visible from here.

Common questions

What is the fastest way to make a second, similar agent?
Duplicate the one you already have. It carries your instructions, models and tools, so you only change what differs.
What happens to my phone number if I delete its agent?
The trunk stays and has nothing to route to, so the number rings into nothing. Check Phone Numbers before deleting.
When would I use View Logs instead of the transcript?
When you need to know why the agent did something rather than what it said.
