Where your balance is shown
Billing & Usage opens with three figures: what you have left, what has been loaded, and what has been used. Here is what each one counts.

Click Billing in the sidebar. The page is headed Billing & Usage, and a strip across the top carries the three numbers people actually come for.
| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Credit balance | What is left to spend right now |
| Total loaded | Everything ever added to the account |
| Used | What calls have consumed, with the percentage of the total |
It is money, not minutes
Balance is held as an amount of currency rather than a number of minutes or credits. That is deliberate. What a minute costs depends on which models the agent is running, so counting minutes would be a number that quietly lied to you.
Two agents can hold a five minute call and cost very different amounts. Only the currency figure is true for both.
Why it settles after the call
A call's cost is the sum of what each part actually consumed. Those figures are known once the call is finished, so the balance updates shortly afterwards rather than ticking down live.
A long call ending at the moment you look at the page is the usual reason a figure seems briefly out of date.
Note
Balance belongs to the account rather than to a payment you make in the dashboard. Adding to it is covered in the article on how balance reaches your account.
Common questions
- Why is my Used figure zero when I have made calls?
- Used counts against the loaded total. If calls are recent, give it a moment to settle, then open the call log and check the individual calls have costs against them.
- Where do I see what one specific call cost?
- Call Log, then open the call. Every call carries its own breakdown.
