Ask Nexa, the assistant in your dashboard

The dashboard's home screen is a chat. Ask it to build an agent, pull a report, or answer a question about your account, in plain language.

Ask Nexa sits at the top of the sidebar and is what you land on when you open the dashboard. It is a chat, and it describes its own job in one line: build an agent, pull a report, or just ask.

It is easy to walk past on the way to the pages you already know. It is usually the shortest route to what you want.

The quick actions

Under the greeting are five chips, and they are a fair summary of what it is for.

ChipWhat it gets you
Build an agentAn agent created from a description, without opening the agent page
This week's callsA report on recent activity
Knowledge baseYour collections and what is in them
Phone numbersWhat is connected and where it points
BillingBalance and usage

Asking in your own words

The box takes plain language. Enter sends, and Shift and Enter give you a new line, which matters when you are describing an agent in more than a sentence.

The questions it handles best are the ones that would otherwise mean opening three pages and comparing them. Which agent took the most calls last week. What a particular number is pointed at. Where the cost went.

Tip

Building an agent from here is the same flow as Describe it in the agent dialog. If you already know what the agent should do, saying it once is faster than filling in a form.

The sidebar changes shape here

This page does something no other page does, and it is worth knowing before you think something has broken. On Ask Nexa the normal sidebar collapses to a narrow strip of icons with no labels, and a panel headed CHATS takes the space where the menu usually sits.

So the familiar list of Agents, Knowledge Bases, Phone Numbers and the rest is still there, just as icons. Hovering or clicking still gets you where you are going, and opening any other page brings the labelled sidebar straight back.

Tip

If you are hunting for a page and the words have vanished, you are on Ask Nexa. Click any icon in the strip, or one of the quick actions, and the normal sidebar returns.

Chats are kept

The CHATS panel lists your previous conversations with a New chat button above them. A chat where you worked something out is still there tomorrow, and each one is named after what you asked, so a clear opening question makes the list readable later.

The bar across the top

Above the greeting sits today's date, a Manage Subscription link, the light and dark toggle, a notifications bell, and your account avatar. The bell carries a dot when there is something unread.

What to check afterwards

When it builds or changes something, go and look at what it made. An agent created from a description is a real agent with real instructions, and reading them once is how you learn whether it understood you.

The same applies to a report. A number without the filter that produced it is a number you cannot repeat.

Common questions

Can Ask Nexa actually create an agent?
Yes. Build an agent is one of its quick actions, and it is the same underlying flow as describing an agent in the create dialog.
Are my chats saved?
Yes, they are listed in the CHATS panel on the left, with a New chat button to start a fresh one.
Why did my sidebar labels disappear?
Ask Nexa collapses the sidebar to icons and puts the CHATS panel in its place. Nothing is missing. Open any other page and the labelled sidebar comes back.
How do I add a new line without sending?
Shift and Enter. Enter on its own sends.
Should I trust a report it gives me?
Treat it as a starting point and check the underlying page for anything you will act on. The report is fast; the page is the record.
